Kevin, Courtney, and Aviah Root
Today in church we sang a song that I had heard before, but today it seemed to mean a lot more to me than any of the other times. It was Chris Tomlin's "Our God". The big issue Courtney and I are facing today, is people unknowingly discouraging us with fears of not being safe, and the fear of not having enough funds to go on this trip that God has presented us with (as crazy as this sentence might sound now after typing it).
The song states "And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us; And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?". Singing those two lines aloud, had a very comforting feel to it. I then realized, if God wants Courtney and I to go on this journey, he will make it so. This past week we raised more support than we had expected to raise. Though, overall, it is but a fraction of what we need at the moment, we know that God showed what he can do if we just trust in him to take care of our needs.
We are planning on purchasing our plane tickets for the trip this week, and that in itself is exciting! We met with Travis and Shirley Crouch (North Georgia Outfitters in Ellijay, Georgia) this week to talk about what kind of gear we will need to have in the conditions in which we will be living in, so we hope to purchase the jackets and shoes that we will need within the next few weeks.
Thank you everybody for your support and prayers so far, and we will try to keep you guys up to date on what is going on in our lives as we prepare for this trip.

You cant listen to people. They are discouraging at times
Cling to what God has said and put faith in what He has told ya'll
That is one of the hardest things to do but one of the best!

There is absolutely no doubt in our minds that God can provide each and every dime that you will need for this trip. I think of how He prepared the earth with everything man & woman could possibly need... even throwing in some things that would give him great pleasure BEFORE He ever breathed the breath of life into them.
ReplyDeleteYou have stepped forward and said, "We will go".... You are absolutely right. If He wants you to go, if now is the time... your "world" will be prepared before you just as He did with Adam & Eve...
Every single detail will be covered, no doubt about it. We watch and pray and wait with you to see what amazing things God has in store for you.
There is no place safer than where He calls you to be.
Unfortunately people don't think before they speak....and they often don't ask the Father what He would desire to say to you...
I pray that you know your Dad and I support you every step of the way and are confident that His provision goes before you....
